Ruby Jewel Rogers Services for Ruby Jewel Rogers will be held, Thursday, December 29, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Bill Yount and Reverend Charlie Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Rogers, 82, of Bailey died December 26, 2011 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 7, 1929 in Pine Springs, Mississippi. As her children were growing up, she was a 4-H Leader and member of the Community Development Club. While serving as a 4-H leader she received the Outstanding 4-H Leader Award on the local and national level. Mrs. Rogers will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her children; son Kenny Rogers, daughter Kay Poole and her husband Tim Poole; grandchildren Wade Rogers and his wife Tracy, Sacia Gordman and her husband Jack, Amy Poole; great-grandchildren Drake and Jala Gordman and Amanda and Brianna Rogers; brother Leonard Byrd; sister Melvis Snowden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Murry Rogers and infant daughter; parents Nate and Virgie Byrd; sisters Vivian Williams and Cristine Moore and brothers Roscoe, Corbett and Roger Byrd. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to American Cancer Society, Mrs. Lynn Irby, Area Director, 8351 CR 514, Meridian, MS 39301. Pallbearers will be Mike Wilson, Keith Moore, Mike Guin, Billy Guin, Zena Limerick, Adam McMinn and Charlie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Jerry Daniels and Ryan Burns.
