Ruby Smith Weathers Services for Ruby Smith Weathers will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 2:00 at Damascus Freewill Baptist Church, with Reverends Hollis Warren and Hank Hollis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Weathers, 94, of Damascus Community died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of Damascus Freewill Baptist Church and a lifetime resident of the Damascus Community. Mrs. Weathers will be remembered as an avid flower gardener. Her favorite pastimes were cooking and reading. Survivors include her husband, James Weathers, Sr. of Damascus Community; sons, James Weathers, Jr. of Damascus, Douglas Weathers and his wife Frances of Meridian; daughters, Faye Ryan of Jackson, Cora Roberson and her husband, Bob of Bailey, Carol Chisolm of Damascus; grandchildren, Teresa Hudson, Jimmy Weathers, Tim Weathers, John Roberson, Lisa Battle, Laura Crosby, Bonnie Sanderford, David Roberson and Terry Ryan; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Lucy Hays of Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Cora Smith; brothers, Louis Smith, Milton Smith, Ollie Smith, George Smith, J.H. "Johnnie" Smith; sister Lula Mae Smith, and an infant sister. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jimmy Weathers, Tim Weathers, John Roberson, David Roberson, Terry Ryan; grandsons-in-law, Evan Battle, Jonathan Sanderford and Caleb Crosby.
