Ruth Myers Scott Memorial service for Ruth Myers Scott will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Father Francis Cosgrove officiating. Mrs. Scott, 61, of Meridian died on February 4, 2014. She was a native of Hinesville, Georgia. Ruth met her husband Jerry and they lived in Jackson while he was going to nurse anesthesia school. After Jerry finished school they moved to Meridian where they have lived for over thirty-two years. Ruth was a graduate of Meridian Community College and Mississippi State University Meridian Branch. She had a passion for politics and enjoyed traveling in Jerry's airplane but most of all loved spending time together. Ruth was a very outgoing person and she never met a stranger. She will be missed dearly by her loving husband, Jerry. Survivors include her husband of forty years, Jerry Scott; twin sister, Karen Welty (Theodore) of Ocala, Florida and brother, Karl Myers (Jenny) of Cleveland, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis E. and Elfrieda Myers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The American Cancer Society.
