Sabrina Lynn Jordan (nee Minchew) passed away on February 6, 2024, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She spent her last days surrounded by family. Sabrina was born in Baytown, TX on November 5, 1957, as the third child and second daughter to Arthur "Roy" Minchew and Annie "Jean" Minchew (nee Joyner). Sabrina moved to Meridian, MS as a child, where she attended Northeast Lauderdale High School. She lived in Charlotte, NC; Cole Strip, MT; and Dallas, TX as a young adult before returning to Meridian to be near her family.
Known as "Beanie" to her family and close friends, Sabrina enjoyed history and exploring her family's genealogy. She organized family reunions and created Facebook groups to remain connected to her extended family. Sabrina enjoyed the outdoors and could often be found sitting on her porch, walking in the woods, or fishing. She enjoyed life and knew the importance of not taking it too seriously. She loved dancing, reading, and watching Westerns. Sabrina had a soft spot for any animal or person in need and gave without expecting anything in return. She worried about others more than herself. No matter what was going on, Sabrina just said, "I'm fine" and carried on.
Sabrina cherished her family. She talked to many strangers about "her girls" and celebrated all the little and big accomplishments of her kids and grandkids. Sabrina is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband John; daughters Holly Covas, Sarah Jordan, and Ashley (Reginald) Jordan; grandchildren Hana Fettinger and Kaleb Fettinger; brothers William "Bodie" Minchew and Dale (Theresa) Minchew; sisters-in-law Debbie (Joey) Hime and Sandra (John) Killen; nieces Pamela (Nick) Tavolino, Jana (Adam) Cook, Taunia Rice, Amber Collier; Amanda (Glenn) Henderson, April Killen, and Angelica Killen; nephews Phillip Gardner, Samuel (Leah) Minchew, Timothy Minchew, Matt (Tiffani) Minchew, Sonny Collier, Jeffery Collier, Joseph (Audrey) Hime, and Don (Marcella) Killen; and her beloved uncle Wilson "Bill" Joyner. Sabrina is preceded in death by her parents Arthur "Roy" Minchew and Annie "Jean" Minchew and her sister Patricia Collier. She is also remembered and survived by many extended family members. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
