Sam, age 36, told his last joke and inappropriately timed, and probably sarcastic, comment on July 22, 2016. As a purveyor of the tallest tales, mostly fictional, he was known for his quick wit and brutal honesty. He will be sorely missed.
He loved butter, cheese, comics, comedians, was an expert at all things cinema, and loved a great book. He had two basic philosophies; there is no need to filter your thoughts before they are released to general audience and find the humor in everything, no matter how inappropriate.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona "Baby" Hodges. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Tom and Carrie Hodges, his sister, Lee Cottrill, and his niece and nephew, Savannah and Tank Cottrill.
He respectfully requests that the San Diego Chargers scatter his ashes across the football field so they can let him down one more time.
In lieu of flowers, please do not vote for Hilary Clinton. Sam was a staunch liberal Democrat, so his sister gets the very last word on this unfinished argument.
