Samuel "Larry" Taylor

Funeral Services for Mr. Larry Taylor will be held Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Taylor, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Bedford Care Center of Marion.

He was an active member and deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was also a banker for forty years. Along with banking, he also enjoyed farming peaches for many years. He will be deeply missed by his family and many special friends who dearly loved him.

Survivors include his children, Jeff Taylor and Melissa (David) Lowe; the second great love of his life, his granddaughter, Jordan Lowe Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Marie Carol Averett Taylor; his parents, Sam and Daisy Taylor; and three sisters, Eloise Fontaine, Hazel Thomas, and Doris Compton.

Pallbearers will be James O. “Bud” Thomas, Cliff Gavin, Sam Pogue, Darrow Lott, Dylan Reed, and Josh Beatty.
