Samuel William Talbert
Services for Samuel William Talbert will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Arkadelphia Baptist Church with Reverend Dano Rainer and Eddie Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Gumlog Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Talbert, 70, of the Obadiah Community in Bailey, died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Centerhill High School and attended two years at Mississippi State University. Mr. Talbert was retired from the IBEW Local 917 after forty-five years. He also retired from the Air National Guard after twenty-one years. Mr. Talbert attended Arkadelphia Baptist Church and he loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his family. His grandchildren were his greatest joy. He loved Nascar racing and working outdoors on his land and tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Talbert; children, Philip Odom and wife Beverly, Jason Odom and wife Mishelle and Kristi Carroll and husband Sean; grandchildren; Katie Gough and husband Brent, Joshua Odom, Samuel Odom, Jacob Odom Michael Carroll and Madison Carroll; great-grandchildren, Van Gough; sister, Betty Lackey and husband Will and nieces Willa Jean, Vicki and Toni.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartaw and Rubye Talbert and brother, Bartaw Talbert, Jr.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, Mrs. Lynn Irby, Area Director, 8351 CR 514, Meridian, Mississippi 39301 or the American Heart Association, 4830 McWillie Circle, Jackson, Mississippi 39206.
Pallbearers will be Marlon Murphy, Doug Wilkerson, Larry Parker, Kevin Parker, Walter Caldwell, Harrell Pace, Jimmy White and Steve Shipman.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
