Sara Margaret Shirley Long Funeral services for Sara Margaret Shirley Long will be held Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Carl White officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Sara, age 84, of Georgetown Texas passed away April 29, 2015, in Texas. She was born February 1931 to Eula and Ed Shirley of Quitman, where she lived until her marriage to George Long of Meridian. She worked many years as a nurse at Riley Hospital and later retired from Automotive Products as a book keeper. Sara had a love for children and later became known as "Granny" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Being blessed with a happy free spirted personality, making people laugh was one of her many talents. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Sollie (Dennis) of Meridian, Georgia (Gigi) Held (Steve) of Georgetown Texas, grandchildren, Chad Rainer of Daytona Beach Florida, Shae Vaughn (Brett) of Georgetown Texas, Stephanie Null (Robby), Dana Casey (Chad), Emmie Franklin (Jason) all of Meridian, Jennifer Leah and Lyndsey Allison; great grandchildren, Travis Rainer, Emma Kate and Jewel Lynn Vaughn, Millery and Abby Null, Tyler and Kale Casey, and Cooper and Ella Franklin; sister, Ruby Graham and brother, Harvey Shirley. Sara was preceded in death by husband, George Long, daughter Jwanda Kay Long; parents, Eula and Ed Shirley; brothers, Jimmy Shirley and Johnny Shirley; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Shirley, and brother-in-law, Curtis Graham.
