Funeral services for Sheila D. Hillsman will be held Monday, January 30, 2017, at 10:00 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Sheila D. Hillsman, 82, of Meridian, passed away January 26th at Anderson’s hospital.

Mrs. Hillsman was a school teacher for over 50 years, having taught in Kansas City, Kansas; Lauderdale, Mississippi; Garland, Texas; Greensburg, Pennsylvania; Covington, Tennessee; Woodward, Oklahoma; Clarksdale, Mississippi. Teaching was her passion in life.

Survived by daughters, April (Hau) Duong, Joy (Mark) Milligan, and Melanie (George) Powe; grandchildren, Jason Smith, Leslie Smith, Katrina Henson, Charity Tyler, and Hope Milligan and eleven Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverand Hubert D. Hillsman; parents,  Frank and Minnie Wiggins; sisters, Betty Bybee, Donave Still; brothers, Chester Wiggins, Eugene Wiggins, and Marvin Wiggins.
