Graveside services for Mrs. Shirley E. Leifried will begin at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Richard Wallace officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Leifried, 89, of Meridian, died Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, following an extended illness.
Shirley was a devoted member of Northcrest Baptist Church where she faithfully attended as long as her health allowed. She loved attending Sunday School in the Friendship Sunday School class and the fellowship with her fellow members. She loved entertaining, especially her family, friends, and loved ones for any occasion possible. She thoroughly enjoyed the holidays and sharing meals with her family and friends. Shirley loved watching renovation projects and cooking shows over the last 20 years. She also enjoyed working in Heirloom Toys with her husband Robert, where they spent their retirement traveling to invitation shows and previewing their heirloom children’s toys.
Mrs. Shirley is survived by her children, Starla Rowell and Rod Leifried (Traci); grandchildren, Robert Hughes (Olivia), Jennifer Lee, Ryder Leifried, and Gage Leifried (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Chase, Caitlyn, McKenzie, Carter, Cooper, Bayleigh, McKinley, and Clay; siblings, Charlene Lombard (Lloyd), Prudy Tanner, Chuck Wright (Peggy), and Judy Wright; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Leifried is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert E Leifried; and her parents, Charles Wright (Josephine) and Betty Miller Lundine (Art).
Pallbearers will be Ryder Leifried, Gage Leifried, Chase Hughes, Neil Goodman, Jimmy Rowell, and Justin Kentfield.
