Sonny Cunningham

Memorial services for Sonny Cunningham will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Brother Davey Wilkinson officiating.

Mr. Cunningham, 77, passed away April 22, 2016, at his home.

Sonny was a lifelong resident of Meridian and attended MCC.  Immediately after high school, he joined the US Army and served overseas.  Upon returning home from overseas, he joined the Meridian Golden Gloves Boxing Club, and was a Golden Glove Champion.  Sonny also served his community as a District 2 Supervisor of Lauderdale County, and was a local businessman for over fifty years.

Sonny is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Beverly Cunningham; his children, Brant Cunningham, Kyle Cunningham, and Christy Cunningham-Fraga (Rick); and grandchildren, Scarlet, Savannah, and Camille Cunningham, Caleb Cunningham, and Christian and Roman Fraga.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Bill and Glemar Brame; his father, Kutcher Cunningham; and sisters, Joann Ross, Jeanette Abraham, and Lainda Boosembark.
