Funeral services for SSgt Michael A. Greer will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Taylor and Bro. Jonathan Greer officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements. SSgt Michael A. Greer, 30, of Meridian, Mississippi passed away Monday, August 25, 2025 at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. Michael was born in Meridian on November 16, 1994 to Mark and Robin Greer. He was a graduate of Southeast High School, Class of 2013. Following graduation, Michael enlisted in the United States Marines Corps and graduated from boot camp at Parris Island. He served at Okinawa, Japan, Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, with deployments to the Middle East, Australia, and on board the USS Kearsarge in the Mediterranean Sea. Michael served his country for 12 years. He was a member of Causeyville Baptist Church and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Michael is survived by his wife, Lorrie W. Greer; his daughter, Seraphina; his parents, Mark and Robin Greer; his siblings, Kristi Smith and Jonathan Greer (Hannah); his nieces and nephews, Josiah, Emma Leigh, Greyson, Ruth, and Levi; and his aunts and uncles, Robbie Limerick (Shelia), Bobby Joe Limerick, Patty Greer, Ronnie Chatham (Gaynell), Randy Chatham, and Sherry Holley (Gene); and many beloved cousins. SSgt Greer was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Chatham, Clyma Glen Chatham, Toxie Greer, Charlene Limerick, and Oliver Limerick; his uncle, Garry Greer; and aunt, Bobbie Chatham. Pallbearers will be Tyler Greer, Daniel Culpepper, Jairr Jones, and members of the U.S. Marine Corps 2ndLt Craig A. Vincent, 1stSgt Ryan A. English, and SSgt Tyler A. Stark.
