Stella Harris Snowden Services for Stella Harris Snowden will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church. Burial will be in Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Snowden, 93, of the Pine Springs Community died Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. She was a lifelong member of Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church and served on the board of directors. Mrs. Snowden worked at J.C. Penny and was also a seamstress for Frances Pointer where she made wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses. She also worked with her husband on the Snowden Minnow Farm for many years. Mrs. Snowden was an avid and talented gardener and a prolific painter and ceramics artist. She had a direct hand in raising current and future generations of business professionals, architects, engineers and doctors. Survivors include her daughter, Sylvia Snowden Brown of Navarre, Florida; son, Ralph Snowden, Jr. of Meridian; grandchildren, Scott Brown and wife Gracas of Atlanta, Jeff Brown and wife Cheryl of Navarre, Florida, Dr. Teri Snowden Brister and husband Skip of Brandon, Mississippi, Trey Snowden of Meridian and Carla Snowden of Meridian; great-grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Jonathan Brown, Dawson Brown, Jenna Brown Everitt, Jessie Brown Fischer, Dr. Nicole Buffington, Gerad Snowden Buffington, Rion Snowden, Devin Snowden, Tara Snowden Self, and Lauren Snowden; five great-great-grandchildren; and sister Mary Clark Bounds. Preceded in death was her husband, Ralph Snowden, Sr.; parents, E.L. Harris and Pearl Bozeman Harris; brothers, Joe and Lloyd Harris and sister, Dorothy Harris Davis. The family requests memorials be made to the Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Pine Springs Southern Methodist Church.
