Steve Douglas Grace, a courageous and adventurous soul, passed away at home, at the age of 51, Friday, March 29, 2024, in Collinsville, MS. Born June 15, 1972, in Meridian, MS, he was a man full of life, who had a love for the great outdoors, music, family, and most importantly, a growing love for the Lord.

As an avid outdoorsman, since the age of 9, he could be found patiently waiting in the deer stand for “The Big One” or casting the line for the next “Keeper.” Steve had been a member of several hunting clubs and fished several fishing trails, attributing to a lifetime of stories, for all his friends and family to remember.

Steve also had a passion for music, favoring the blues. He spent hours playing for his own enjoyment allowing only his wife and daughter to hear. However, after much persuasion and support, he began following the call to play for his church. A testament of living for the Lord.

If Steve wasn’t in the woods or practicing for church services, he was spending time with his family. Anna Claire Grace, his 11-year-old daughter, was his pride. If he wasn’t coaching her softball team, he was attending her basketball games along with any other activities she was involved with.

Steve was a highly regarded financial advisor with an industry career spanning over 25 years. He provided not only sound financial advice but also built lasting professional and personal relationships with many of his clients. Many times, clients would call just to talk about hunting or fishing.

Mr. Grace is survived by his wife of 17 years, Shawnda Grace; his daughter, Anna Claire Grace; his mother, Judy Ryburn; his brother, Will Grace; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Johnny Grace; his step-father, Jack Ryburn; paternal grandparents, Mac and Ouida Grace; and his maternal grandparents, Lon and Kathleen Douglas.

Pallbearers will be Lance Brent, Britt Covington, Kevin Anders, Shawn Eubanks, Chad Smith, Jeff Collum, Bill Cornish, and Chris Cornett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ross Goodin and Michael Heard.

The Grace Family suggests memorials be made as donations to any outdoor preservation society of your choice in lieu of flowers.
