Services for Steven Michael Johnson will be held Tuesday, August 13 with a 10:00 am Mass at St Patrick Catholic Church with Father Frank Cosgrove officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Johnson, age 54, died Friday, August 9. Steven was one of the most God gifted athletes in this area, so talented and so competitive. He was such a good hearted person. Steven was always upbeat, kind, caring, thoughtful and respectful of others. He was known to have never met a stranger. After graduating from Meridian High School, he attended and graduated from Kennesaw State University outside Atlanta, and had worked in different capacities at John O'Neil Johnson Toyota. You would find him working out daily at Anderson Heath Fitness Center. Steven was also known for his love of NASCAR and collectables, by naming his beloved house dog, "Indy". He was preceded in death by his father, John O'Neil Johnson, Sr. and nephew, Ian Michael Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Gift Johnson, brother, John O'Neil Johnson, Jr.(Johnny) , of Meridian, sister, Susan Hicks and husband Larry of Hattiesburg, uncle, Dr Roland Jackson and wife Suzanne of Austin Texas, nephews, John O'Neil Johnson III (Neil), Nicholas Cain Johnson, Christopher Blaise Johnson, of Meridian, Larry Hicks Jr, and Lance Hicks of Hattiesburg, nieces, Lori Hicks Bullock, Leslie Hicks Swilley, of Hattiesburg, Erin Johnson Smith of Jackson, and Caroline Johnson of Diamondhead, numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Larry Hicks Jr., Allen Day, Sanford McCraw, Winky Glover III, Wilson Stone, Pierce Dickson and Harry Mayer. Memorials may be made to St Patrick Church/School, 2601 Davis St., or Lucky Dog Rescue, "Animal Rescue Organization" PO Box 3224, Meridian, MS 39303 or a charity of your choice.
