Sylvia Kime Waller

Sylvia Kime Waller 77 of Meridian died April 19, 2019. Mrs. Waller was born January 28, 1942 in Philadelphia, MS. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School, 1960. She received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Meridian Community College, Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Masters in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Sylvia was first employed at Neshoba County Hospital. After moving to Meridian, she was employed with Meridian Community College in the Practical Nursing Division. A year later, she began teaching in the Associate Degree Nursing Program and retired in 2005 after nearly thirty three years of teaching. After retirement, Sylvia spent quality time with her family, reading, oil and canvas painting, traveling and growing flowers. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughters Tammy Henry Nielsen, Shawna Young Wallace (David) and son, James (Jimmy) Edward Henry II. Grandchildren Kristin Nielsen Molina (Alex), Taylor Nielsen, Dakota Henry, Leah Dooling, Elizabeth Wallace, Andrew Wallace and Great Grandchild Silas.

Sylvia was preceded in death by husbands James Edward Henry, Richard Young and Wilson Waller, daughter Susan Henry Dooling, mother Jonnie Haggard Trout, father Dallas Spencer Kime.

Pallbearers will be Larry Smith, Randy Young, David Wallace, Taylor Nielsen, Dakota Henry and Andrew Wallace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MCC Shirley Griffin Nursing Scholarship fund.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019, at 10:30 A.M. with funeral at 11:30 A.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in Meridian with Dr. Michael Bird. Burial will be held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS.
