With heavy hearts and unwavering faith in God’s promises, we announce that on June 6, 2026, Teresa Bye peacefully passed from this earthly life while in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, on a trip with her family, surrounded by the beauty of the Tennessee Mountains she so dearly loved. Teresa was born on December 1, 1954, to Russell and Lela Fikes of Stonewall, MS.

Teresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and faithful servant whose life was defined by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family. On January 1, 1993, she married the love of her life, Terry, beginning a beautiful journey together that spanned more than thirty-three years. Their marriage was a testament to faith, friendship, commitment, and enduring love. She was a proud and loving mother to her three children Alyssa Busiere (Brett), Ashley Ward (John), and Tyler Bye (Harleigh); She also lovingly claimed Braxton Boswell (Courtney) as her “second son,” a title that reflected the deep bond and affection they shared for many years. Nothing brought Teresa greater joy than spending time with her family. Whether gathered around the table, celebrating life’s milestones, sharing stories, or simply enjoying each other’s company, she treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

Her love only multiplied as her family grew. She adored her grandchildren, Lil’ John and Adelynne Ward, Jayden and Allie Grace Brennan, and Bailey Busiere, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

For many years, Teresa faithfully served at Miller Cattle Company, where she built lasting friendships and earned the respect and admiration of those who worked alongside her. Following a dedicated career marked by hard work and integrity, she retired in 2023. Teresa found joy in life’s simple blessings. She loved music and always seemed to have a song in her heart. She cherished family vacations to the Tennessee mountains, where she found peace in God’s creation. A passionate sports fan, she rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on her beloved Ole Miss Rebels and enjoyed following SEC sports. She also loved watching game shows, sharing laughter with family, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Among her most faithful companions was her beloved wiener dog, Hoss the Boss, who brought her endless comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. Those who knew Teresa will remember her warm smile, kind spirit, generous heart, and unwavering faith. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, valued, and loved. Her life was a reflection of Christ’s love, and her influence will continue to be felt in the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Bye; daughters, Alyssa Busiere (Brett) and Ashley Ward (John); son, Tyler Bye (Harleigh); her beloved “second son,” Braxton Boswell(Courtney); grandchildren, Lil’ John and Adelynne Ward, Jayden and Allie Grace Brennan, and Bailey Busiere; her faithful companion, Hoss the Boss; a Sister Kaye Turner(Steve) niece Morgan Turner, nephew Logan Turner and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lela Dearman, Russell Fikes, and stepfather, David Dearman.

While our hearts are broken by her absence, we find comfort in knowing that Teresa has been welcomed into the arms of her Savior. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love remains woven into the lives of those she cherished. Her legacy of faith, kindness, devotion, and unconditional love will continue to guide and inspire her family for years to come.

Pallbearers will be John Ward, Tyler Bye, Brett Busiere, Braxton Boswell, Daniel Sage, and Lil’ John Ward.
