Funeral services for Mrs. Thellis S Winstead will begin at 1:30 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with the Reverends Dr. Carl White and Franklin Denham officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in House, MS. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Winstead, 95, of Meridian, died Friday, November 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Winstead was a realtor for over 50 years. She was co-owner of Winstead Realty, Inc which began in 1952. She was the recipient of the Tony L. Winstead Lifetime Achievement Award for the East Mississippi Realtors Association. She served in numerous capacities including President of the Board of Realtors. Thellis had served on the Board of Directors of First Mississippi Federal Credit Union. She was a long-time member of Highland Baptist Church serving in numerous roles and committees through the years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing piano, and entertaining family and friends.

Mrs. Winstead is survived by her son, Terry Winstead; Daughter-in-law, Michele Winstead; grandchildren, Lauren Rich (Caleb), Mitchell Winstead (Fiancé' Madison Fisher), and Emma Winstead. Great-grandchildren, Mason, Bryson, and Demi Rich. Her Winstead-In-laws, Milbur and Pat Posey, Mary Adkins, Jack and Jeanette Winstead, and Wayne and Nanette Winstead; as well as a host of numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members of the Smith and Winstead families.

Thellis is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, W.C. Winstead; her son, Tony Winstead; her parents Jesse and Lucy Smith; siblings, Sadie Hardy (Ollie), Odie Smith (Hester), William Carly Smith, Myrtice Skinner (Henry), Delma Ward Morehead, Ruby Skinner (Bruce), Ruth Rogers Chapin (Hugh Rogers , Bob Chapin), Hildred Matkosky (Thomas), Nell Ward (Garvis), Bonnie Joiner (Arlo), and Patsy Holloway (Danny). Winstead Family members; Father and Mother-in-law, Carl and Zula Winstead; Brothers -in-law, Elmo Winstead (Inez), Arlo Winstead (Dot) and Mondell Adkins; sister-in-law Mary Gilmore Winstead.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Posey, Mitchell Winstead, Caleb Rich, Mason Griffin, Markey Joiner, and Randy Ragsdale.

The Winstead Family suggests memorials be made as donations to the W.C. Winstead Scholarship Fund at Meridian Community College in lieu of flowers.
