Graveside services for Thelma Miller "Granny" Vincent will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Mike Dobrosky officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vincent, 101, of Meridian, died Thursday March 11, 2010 at Rush Foundation Hospital. She retired from St. Joseph Hospital after 17 years of service as an accountant. She had a passion for art, and enjoyed painting and designing pottery. Mrs. Vincent was born on November 4, 1908 to Jeff and Martha Miller. She will forever be remembered for her strong faith, love, and generosity to the many lives she touched. She will always be "Granny Vincent" to family and friends. Survivors include two daughters, Pauline C. Dial of Meridian, MS and Bernice c. Hughes, and her husband, H.T. Hughes, of Baton Rouge, LA; Five granddaughters, Angela Long Luina of Toano, VA, Deborah Long Holder of Canton, GA, Brenda Long Gabriel of Meridian, MS, Paula Hughes Sissions and Sharon Hughes Thorning, both of Baton Rouge, LA; sixteen great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and Beverly Gabriel, her loving friend and caregiver. Mrs. Vincent was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo James Vincent, and grandson, Nicholas Frank Long III. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Pallbearers will be Lindsay Gabriel, Joe Luina, Jeff Holder, Mike Thomas, Brad Simpson, Jason Holder, and Trey Luina.
