Mrs. Suitor, age 96, of Pachuta, passed away Friday December 12, 2014 at North Pointe Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Suitor worked at Marks Rothenberg for a number of years, but found her calling as an “associate pastor,” as her husband, Reverend Roy Suitor, affectionately called her. After her husband’s passing, she volunteered for many years as a Sunshine Lady at Anderson's Regional Medical Center. Known as Big Mom to those that loved her, she was a selfless person with tremendous faith that saw her through the loss of her husband and four children. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
Survivors include her daughter, Cathy Riley; grandsons, Richard Russell, Jr., Todd Russell and his wife, Joanna, and Johnny Russell; granddaughters, Lori Pickett and her husband, Charles, and Karen Lopez and her husband, John; great-grandchildren, Cody Russell, Bailey Pickett, Lauren Pickett, and Braden Russell; a sister, Pauline Sanders; special niece, Lillian Cutshall and her husband, Bill; and a special great-nephew, Mike Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Roy Suitor; sons Richard Russell, Jimmy Russell, Paul Suitor and daughter, Peggy Gafford.
