Thomas Richmond Jones, Jr. Services for Thomas Richmond Jones, Jr. will be held Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, with Dr. John Branning officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Jones, 81, of Meridian died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at his residence. He was born May 8, 1932, in Jackson, Mississippi to Maefrank Walker and Thomas R. Jones, Sr. Mr. Jones graduated from Central High School in Jackson, Mississippi in 1950. He graduated from The University of Mississippi in 1954 with a Bachelors of Business Administration and graduated with an LLB from Ole Miss Law School in 1958. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, where he served as President and he was also a member Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity. Mr. Jones also served a Treasurer of the Student Body. He practiced law in Meridian from 1958 until his retirement in 2001, from Bourdeaux and Jones, a firm founded with the late Thomas Bourdeaux. Mr. Jones was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Mr. Jones served active duty in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956, then served in the Army Reserve from 1956 until 1983 retiring as a Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Angela Allen Jones of Meridian; children, Laura J. Neely and husband Kirk, Alison Jones and husband Mark, Walker Jones and wife Suzanne, Courtney Wilson and husband Krause, Allen Hendricks and wife Amy and Laura Weaver and husband Murry; grandchildren, Katharine Hudson and husband Seth, Lesley Hudson, Carson Prewett, Thomas Rolston, Leigh Rolston, Harold Jones, Greer Wilson, Sarah Miller Hendricks, Harper Hendricks and Elizabeth Weaver; and his caregiver , Larry Collins. Pallbearers will be Rick Barry, Dave Hastings, Dr. Earl Laird, Irvin Martin, Jim Bass, Krause Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Nuckolls, Les Prichard and Lawrence Franck. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Central United Methodist Church or your charity of choice. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at robertbarhamffh.com. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
