Thomas E. Mathis Services from Thomas E. Mathis will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, with Reverend Tom Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Mathis, 71, of Meridian died Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He worked for many years with American Can and The James River Corporation. Survivors in clued his wife Hollis Mathis of Meridian; daughter Tammy Lynn Ratcliff and husband Todd of Meridian; step children John Hastings of Meridian, Crystal Hastings Daniel and husband Dr. Russell Daniel of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; three grandchildren Morgan Ratcliff, Ryan Daniel and Kate Daniel; brothers Doby Mathis, Richard Mathis, Sammy Mathis and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Iva Mathis; brother R.D. Mathis and step son R. L. Morgan. Pallbearers will be Todd Mathis, Keith Mathis, Matt Mathis, John Mathis, Jordan Mathis and Billy Mathis. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at robertbarhamffh.com.
