Thomas Eugene Tucker

Graveside services for Mr. Thomas Eugene "Tom" Tucker will be held at 1:30PM, Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Reverends Jack Giles and Bob Followell officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Tom Tucker, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Baptist Anderson's Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Tom was born in Wetumpka, Alabama on July 12, 1941, to Harper and Lucille Tucker. Tom started his work career out as a butcher at Joe Burnett's Grocery. He then joined the Air Force in 1959 and served until 1964. He then joined the Meridian Police Department as a rookie patrolman in 1964 and retired from the force in 1984 as an Assistant Chief of Police. He then chose a career as a claim representative with the old USF&G Insurance Company on July 3, 1984. He worked his way up from adjuster trainee to Liability Insurance Specialist/Public Sector Representative with Travelers Insurance Company. He retired in 2009 when Travelers closed all the Mississippi offices.

Tom is survived by his son, Tracy Tucker and daughter, Stacy Walls (JT); daughter-in-law, Shannon Coleman; grandchildren, Abigail Christine Tucker (Joe Miles), Tee Walls, Dan Walls, Devin Gray Coleman, Peyton Lee Coleman, and Brittany Dunn Clayton (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Brooklynn Goodwin, Joslynn Goodwin, Chandler Owen Johnson, Beckett Lyle Johnson, Shane Tucker Walls, William Elijah Walls, and Maren Jo Miles, and sister, Betty Mitchell.

Tom is preceded in death by the love of his life and best friend of 44 years, Bonnie Tucker; parents, Harper and Lucille Tucker; stepchildren, Lisa Dunn and Adrian Coleman, and grandson, Shane Todd Lummus.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Anderson's Cancer Center and the caring CCU staff at Baptist Anderson's Regional Medical Center.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Anderson's Cancer Center Benevolence Fund or the charity of choice.
