Tim Poole

Funeral services for Mr. Tim Poole will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brothers Charlie Rodriguez, Bill Yount, and Don Malin officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Tim Poole, age 67, of Bailey, Mississippi passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019.

Tim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He spent a lifetime of 50 years dating the love of his life, Kay Rogers Poole.  His daughter, Amy, frequently appears in productions at MCC and Meridian Little Theatre and Tim never missed a performance, he loved to hear Amy sing. His recent years were devoted to spending time with his grandson and best friend, Jacob.  He also enjoyed reading, traveling, and watching New York Yankees baseball.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Chunky River Harley Davidson HOG group and was the safety director for the club.  He was extremely intelligent and excelled at sports and academics throughout his life.  Tim was a standout guard and pitcher for his high school and junior college basketball and baseball teams.  He received a master’s degree in English with a minor in history and education from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Tim taught English at Meridian Junior College and Mt. Olive High School.  He spent much of his life working in the timber industry with his family and retired from AAA Cooper Transportation in January.  Tim was a certified volunteer fire fighter with the Bailey Volunteer Fire Department.  He was active on the Bailey Volunteer Fire Department Board and was currently serving as president of the board.

Tim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kay Poole; his daughter, Amy Poole McMinn (Adam); a grandson, Jacob Timothy McMinn; his siblings, Deborah Ford Sylvia (Jon), Chris Poole (Joyce); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Poole was preceded in death by his parents, Erskine and Eunice Poole, and a brother, Peter K. Poole.

Pall bearers will be Charlie Smith, Keith Logan, Rusty Kynerd, Ronny Roberts, Ron St. John, and Ed Poole.  Honorary pall bearers will be Cameron White, Zena Limerick, and Wayne James.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
