Funeral services for Mrs. Tommie Jean Kilgore will begin at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2025, in the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Kern officiating. Interment will follow at Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Kilgore, 86, of Meridian, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Aldersgate Assisted Living in Meridian.

Mrs. Tommie Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. Having the gift of gab, she hardly ever met a stranger. She loved to meet new friends and especially enjoyed being with her family. Always learning a new hobby, she was always learning new crafts and activities to occupy her downtime. She was a two-time world traveler and enjoyed cruising.

Tommie Jean is survived by her children, Othell “Buddy” Burton, Jr. (Connie), Vicky Kern (Jack), Carolyn Holcombe, Brenda Burton, and Lori Chiodo; grandchildren, Jenny, Jacob, Ryland, Kelsey, Kalyn, Casey, Brittany, Regan, and Cheyenne; eleven great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Kilgore is preceded in death by William Edward “Ed” Smith and Effie Estelle Smith; her husband, James Kilgore; her grandchildren, Zackery, Jacob, and Jason; her siblings, Truman, Odessa, Juanita, William “Sonny” Edward, Jr., Helen, Joan, and Peggy.

Pallbearers will be Ryland Kern, Dennia Pena, Ray Burton, Buddy Burton, Jamie Cruise, and Patton Cruise.
