Tommy Leigh Griffin aka “Big Tom”

Funeral services for Tommy Griffin will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pentecostals of House Church “POH” located on Highway 19 North, between Collinsville and House, with Pastor Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton County with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Big Tom Griffin, age 50, of Collinsville, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at his home.

Big Tom was a member of POH and loved his church and church family. If you ever met him, you would never forget him. He witnessed to complete strangers and was always concerned about people’s eternal salvation.

At age 16, he was involved in a bad automobile accident, but he never let it slow him down.

Survivors include his one and only son, Tommy Leighvon Griffin; mother, Ava Louise Wells and husband, Jerry; and brother, William Griffin and wife, Lisa.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eloise Burke “Granny”; grandfather, William Otho Burke; and a very special buddy, “Fuzzy” (his faithful dog companion).

Visitation will be held Monday, January 4, 2016 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Pentecostals of House Church located on Highway 19 North, between Collinsville and House.
