Tommy Strickland

The family of Tommy Strickland will receive friends for a time to share memories and celebrate his life and birthday on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.

Clyde Tommy Strickland, 80, of Meridian, MS, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Tommy served in the United States Air Force for four years during which time he served in country, Vietnam and received a Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, and Air Force Accommodation Medal. Although it was only four years, it was a lifetime service due to his exposure to Agent Orange, which left him a 100% Disabled Veteran.

Tommy spent the majority of his time after the military in the Transportation Industry leading to him owning his own Transportation Agency, TSE Enterprise, for 42 years.

Outside of transportation, Tommy was an advocate for owning and operating airboats. His last airboat was used for movies and later donated to the Cajun Navy. Tommy also supported multiple Law Enforcement Motorcycle Clubs. He enjoyed outdoor cooking for friends and family along with a passion for plants.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Strickland, children; Tammy Strickland May (Douglas) and Tommy Dale Strickland (Michelle), grandchildren; Tanner Strickland (Brittany), Christopher Agent (Kandi), Harley Strickland, Kennedy Strickland, his great-grandchildren, one sister, Linda Lumpkin and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Connie Strickland Agent, his parents, Woodrow and Jewel Strickland, siblings, Jimmy Strickland, Robert Strickland, Betty Strickland, and Terry Strickland.
