Treajetta Ann Gibson

Graveside Services for Ms. Treajetta Ann Gibson will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Hamrick Cemetery with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Gibson, 82, of Meridian, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Poplar Springs Nursing Center of Meridian.

Treajetta was a graduate of Collinsville High School; and she went on to graduate from Business College. She began her career at the Meridian Star and later worked in medical records Matty Hersee Hospital. Ms. Gibson was a member of Collinsville Methodist Church.

A beauty in her youth, at 14, she won a National Beauty Contest and was crowned First Calf Scramble Queen of Lauderdale County. Her picture can still be found at Weidmann’s.

She is survived by one brother, Gary L.  Gibson (June) and one sister, Yvette Gibson Wilkerson. A niece

Dawn Covington Carney and three nephews, Dr. Gary L. Gibson (Linda) , Jeffrey Gibson Covington, and Will Wilkerson (Cookie), as well as several great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, H.L.  and Clydie Jones Gibson and one sister, Peggy Gibson Covington.

The family wishes to thank those who spoke a kind word, a kind deed, and especially those who were faithful to pray for our sister; to the soup ministry, we thank you ladies for putting feet to God’s Word.
