Troy Edward Thrasher

Funeral services for Mr. Troy Edward Thrasher will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Long Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Marty Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

Mr. Troy Thrasher, age 60, of Long Creek, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Troy was a dedicated and skilled maintenance technician at Bimbo Bakery. For more than 20 years, he also worked alongside his father, Mason, at Thrasher Roofing and Remodeling, bringing care and craftsmanship to every project.

A devoted husband, father, and beloved "PawPaw Chicken," Troy was known for his deep love of family, friends, music, and the outdoors. He found joy in hunting, fishing, and caring for his longleaf pine trees. He took great pride in his title of “Best Story Teller” and was always making people laugh. At home, he could often be found in his recliner, surrounded by his dogs, cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Mr. Thrasher is survived by his loving wife, Claire Thrasher; son, Hayden Thrasher (Ashleigh); grandchildren, Addison Thrasher and William Thrasher; mother, Maxine Thrasher; sisters, Amanda Keierleber, Cathy Jones, and Linda Felton (Jack); brother, Keith Keierleber; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Troy was preceded in death by his father, Mason Ray Thrasher, and his brother, Kenneth “Kenny” Keierleber, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Robert Hughey, Jeffery Jones, Michael Thomas, Alec Jones, Tanner Felton, and Sam Wells.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A donation site was made for Troy in his honor.
