Virgil D. Reed

Virgil D Reed, age 76, of Toomsuba, MS, passed away January 11, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Virgil was born on March 5, 1943 to Henry and Nell Reed. He married Helen Reed at the age of 21. They were married for 54 years and enjoyed working in the garden and spoiling their grandchildren.

Virgil and Helen raised 3 sons. He raised his boys to be the hard working, strong, honest and loving men they are today.

Virgil D. Reed is survived by his Sons, Virgil Kevin Reed (Angela), Elton Glen Reed (Leah) and Timothy Aaron Reed (Cindy); 9 grandchildren, Jamie Elizabeth Bunyard, Micah Aaron Reed, Sarah Dudley Reed, Shawn Thomas Myers, Sullivan Glen Reed, Shane Austin Reed, Sadie Elizabeth Reed, Palin Abree Reed, Abigail Elizabeth Myers; his 2 brothers Henry Thomas Reed and Robert McArthur Reed (Shirley); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by the light of his heart, his loving wife of 54 years, Helen Glenn Reed; parents, Henry and Nell Reed; Siblings Dewey Earl Reed, Charlie Franklin Reed, Grady Elmer Reed, Jack (Clyde) Chester Reed, Erma Jean Reed and Lois Dean Reed.

A celebration of Virgil’s life will be held at the Robert and Pauline Shelton Community Building at 236 Smith Spur Road, Toomsuba, MS on Saturday, January 25 at 1:00 p.m. (with special thanks to Bill and Kathy Danielson). Food and drinks will be provided. All are welcome.
