Virginia Covert Buchanan

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Virginia Covert Buchanan will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Augustine Pallimattam officiating. A private family interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mrs. Buchanan, 96, formerly of Meridian, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at The Waterford on Highland Colony.

Mrs. Virginia was born in Meridian and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Mrs. Virginia is survived by her children, Tony Buchanan (Nancy), Claire Simmons, Pat Buchanan (Dee), Melanie Reed, and Virginia Williams (Mark); 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; her long-time caregiver, Dorothy Helm; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mrs. Buchanan is preceded in death by her husband, James Buchanan; her infant daughter, Michelle Buchanan; her siblings, Louis Covert, Conrad Covert, and Rita Covert.

Pallbearer will be her grandsons and son-in-law, Ben Williams, Tim Williams, Franklin Gaddis, Blake Simmons, Patrick Simmons, and Mark Williams.
