Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Doggett will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2026, at Shady Grove Cemetery, located on Co. Road 34 W in Millry, AL with Reverend Dennis Coats officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Doggett, 82, of Butler, AL, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at her home following an extended illness.
Virginia was a graduate of Matty Hersee Hospital School of Nursing. She went on to retire as a Registered Nurse with a career spanning over 40 years, having worked in Mississippi, Florida, and California. She was responsible for organizing and overseeing the construction of the LDR Rooms in the current Labor and Delivery Unit at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center currently known as Baptist Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was named Mississippi’s Nurse of the Year in 2000 for her dedication and work in the L & D Unit. Mrs. Doggett was a member of First Assembly of God in Butler, AL, and attended Northcrest Baptist Church while she lived in Meridian. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who devoted her life to children and their care.
Mrs. Virginia is survived by her children Ronny Roberts (Missy) and Robbin Britain; grandchildren, Jessica Snowden (Will), Katie Sisson (Junior), Nathan Miller (Brett), Claire Pinkham (Cody), Zack Roberts, and Alexis Britain; great-grandchildren, Madalyn Irby, Mallory Irby, Olivia Reynolds, Kannon Sisson, Jackson Miller, Laurel Reynolds, Mason Miller, John Leach, Magnolia Moorehead, Weston Miller, Caroline Snowden, Natalie Moorehead, Kashton Donald, and Brantley Means; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mrs. Doggett is preceded in death by her parents Reverend John and Edna Mosley; her husband, Slater Doggett; and the father of her children, Homer Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Zack Roberts, Junior Sisson, Will Snowden, Michael Donald, Seth Carney, and Doug Ford. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Webb and Nathan Miller.
The family suggests memorials be made as donations to the Center for Pregnancy Choices located at 1000 20th Ave, Meridian, MS 39301 in lieu of flowers.
