Virginia C Irby

Graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Irby will be held Thursday, July 13 at 11a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. Richard Wallace officiating, with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Irby, age 91, of Meridian passed away July 10, 2017 at Christa’s House of Meridian.

She was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church, and she was an avid reader of the Bible. She loved to read and to work in her yard, tending to her flowers. Mrs. Irby also enjoyed making crafts and spending time with her friends and family.

Mrs. Irby graduated valedictorian from Vimville High School, where she was also a star basketball player. She was a loving and supportive wife to her husband of over fifty years, Paul Irby, .

She is survived by her granddaughter, Felisha Irby Powell; great-grandchildren, Taylor Powell and Connor Powell; her nephew, Edwin Earl Boswell; and her loving friends, Gale and Tommy George.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Irby, Sr.; her son, Paul Irby, Jr.; and her sister, Minnie Evelyn Boswell.
