Vistan Allen

Funeral services for Mrs. Vistan Allen will be held Sunday, December 22,2024, at 2:00PM at the chapel of Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Steve Chisolm and Rev. Hal Bates officiating. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Collinsville Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Vistan was a life-long and active member of First Baptist Church of Collinsville. When her children were in elementary school at West Lauderdale, she was very involved as "Room Mom". She was a member of the Collinsville Community Development Club, where she served as president and other capacities during her tenure. She was named "Woman of the Year" multiple times for her dedication with the club. Vistan was also a member of the Meridian Civitan Club for years and even served a term as president. When not serving others, her hobbies included sewing, gardening, baking and traveling the world with her family.

Professionally, Vistan started her career with AT&T as a Switchboard Operator; she was then promoted to Secretary, and eventually achieved the level of Lead Engineer prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her children; Philip Allen (Jane) and Gina Allen, grandchildren; Drew Allen, Joshua Allen (Rita), Chisolm Allenlundy (Sami), Sarah Allen, and Isiah "Ziggy" Allenlundy, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Billy Allen, parents; Rupert and Trilba Chisolm, brothers; Thomas Chisolm, Edwin Chisolm, and C.E. Chisolm, son-in-law, Charlie Lundy.

The family request memorials be made as donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
