Meridian- Vito DiGiuseppe, 87, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home. He leaves his wife, Imogene DiGiuseppe; his son, James DiGiuseppe; his daughters, Victoria Sanson, Jean Craigs, Sherry Gould, and Leta Palmiter; stepchildren, Tincy Carney and Tommy Gene McNamara; twenty-two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Raised in Rhode Island, the son of Cosmo and Mary DiGiuseppe. In 1943, "Dee" joined the U.S. Navy, as a Seabee, in World War II. After serving through the war in the Pacific and the Korean War, he retired with 22 years served as Master Chief. He truly relished the friends he made during his time in Seabees. His military training shaped his personality and gave him many unique experiences including several tours in Antarctica and the North Pole. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and patriotic veteran. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Evangel Temple at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers include Mike Palmiter, Tommy McNamara, Sr., Tommy McNamara, Jr., Anthony McNamara, Jimmy McNamara, and Jody Solomon. Visitation will be Friday evening at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
