Walter Curtis "Bubber" Brown Sr. Services for Walter Curtis Brown Sr. will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Tom Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Mr. Brown, 81, lifetime resident of Meridian, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from Gerber Products Co. and was an Alumni and former Master Counselor of DeMolay International Association, a youth civic organization. He was a Past Master of Saints John Masonic Lodge No. 507 of Meridian. In 2000 he was honored as a fifty-year-member of the Scottish Rite Freemasons. His interests included stage performances at the Meridian Little Theater, sailing, travelling and gardening with his wife. He also loved photography and carpentry work. Mr. and Mrs. Brown would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. He and his wife were members of First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Sally Merritt Brown; children, Curtis Brown and his wife, Melinda, of Tupelo, Cherie Brown McCall and her husband Bill and Rebecca Brown Cooper, all of Meridian; grandchildren, Jena Brown Snow and her husband, Rex, of Miami, Fla., Elliott Brown of Birmingham, Ala., Clara Seitz of Tupelo, Paul Lester Jr. and his wife, Robin, of Meridian, Randy McCall and his wife, Kim, of Paris, Tenn., Jonathan McCall and his wife, Rachel, of Meridian, Breck Cooper of Nashville, Tenn. and Christen Cooper of Hattiesburg; great-grandchildren, Sara Beth Snow, Dylan Lester, Hunter Jackson, Trey Lester, Britney McCall, Christian McCall, Caleb McCall and Katlyn McCall; brother, C. Cliff Brown Jr. of Tulsa, Okla.; and his nephew, Alan Brown of Maitland, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence C. Brown Sr. and Maybelle Brown; and great-granddaughter, Brendal Chandler Snow. Pallbearers will be Cliff Brown, Curtis Brown, Bill McCall, Paul Lester, Elliott Brown and Benny Baylis. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Brown, Breck Cooper, Randy McCall and Jonathan McCall. The family requests that gifts and memorials be made to the Meridian Little Theater or the First Christian Church.
