Funeral services for Mr. Robert Wayne "Stonewall" Jackson will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at 11:30 AM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Rev. Bart Ladner officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Wayne Jackson, age 83, of Ocean Springs, MS, formerly of Meridian, MS, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, at his home in the Latimer Community.

Wayne attended the Community College back when it was referred to as the 13 & 14th Grades at MHS. He provided 29 years of service at the Meridian Fire Department and retired as a Captain. He also worked as a service technician at Sears Department Store.

Wayne served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church for many years and was a member of the Shriners. He enjoyed riding horses and taught his daughter Sandra to ride. He also enjoyed fishing with his family.

He was a devoted husband and father, and he was "The World's best Grandpa and Great Grandpa", at least according to his grandsons and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Hazel Ruth Thompson Jackson, their only child, Sandra Ruth Jackson of Ocean Springs, Latimer Community, grandson; Jonathan Paul of Hurley, MS and Sean Thomas of Latimer, great grandchildren; Olivia Sue and Grant of Hurley, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Claude Lee Jackson and Susie Anna Avera Jackson of Meridian, MS, his brother; Leland Jackson of Meridian, MS.
