Wayne Lowery Mangum Funeral services for Wayne Lowery Mangum will be held Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Carl White and Dr. Richard Blue officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Mangum, age 86, of Walker, Louisiana passed away December 4, 2014 at his home. Mr. Mangum was a Korean War Veteran. He served 20 years in the Meridian Police Department, and 20 years at the Meridian Community College Security. He was a member for many years of Highland Baptist Church. Mr. Mangum was also an active member of several years of The Lauderdale County Republican Executive Committee. He enjoyed traveling and taking vacations with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Juanita Mangum; daughter, Cindy Varnado and husband, Scott; daughter-in-law, Donna Mangum Lummus; grandchildren, Reverend Greg Mangum and wife, Brittney, Courtney Mangum, Claire Varnado, and Dr. Justin Qualls and wife, Emily; great-granddaughters, Corrine Qualls and Mattie Spears; sister, Elzine Crenshaw; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Lowery Mangum and mother Bell Mangum; and son, Don Mangum. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers will be David Waddell, Terry Waddell, Josh Waddell, Terry Crenshaw, Charlie Edwards, and Tom Tucker. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
