Wayne "Red" Warren

A funeral service for Wayne Warren will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Center Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Cliff Barker officiating, burial will be at the church cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Wayne Warren, age 85, of De Kalb passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Wayne was a proud member of Center Ridge Baptist Church, where he found strength and solace in his faith. Red was a devoted lineman and foreman at EMEPA for 36 years. His service to the nation was honored during his two years in the United States Army, including a year spent in Vietnam, where he exemplified bravery and resilience.

A multifaceted individual, Wayne cherished his time outdoors, relishing in activities such as hunting with dogs and tending to the family yard and property. He had a passion for farming and enjoyed working alongside his brothers to grow watermelons-experiences that brought him joy and fulfillment. In his quieter moments, he could be found playing solitaire or watching Jeopardy.

Wayne's family will always remember him as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather-a man whose care and support were unwavering. He always prioritized his family, ensuring their happiness and well-being above all else.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Jean Warren; children, Wesley Warren and Michelle Rawson (Allen); grandchildren, Parker Rawson, Baylor Rawson, Jackson Robinson, Layndon Warren, and Paisley Warren; siblings, Joe Warren (Sandra), Bonnie White, Janie Smylie, Dorothy Porter, and Roberta Thompson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Leslie and Ollie Warren; siblings, Jimmie Warren, Mildred Frith, Alice Gilbert, Capitola Chapman, Belle Paige, and Ruth Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Warren, Joe Lee Durant, Johnny Thomas, Leon Grace, Jerry Paige, Ira Nelson, and Kenneth Kitchens.
