William "Bill" Boyd

Funeral services for Mr. William “Bill” Boyd will begin at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Collinsville First Baptist Church with the Reverends Hal Bates and Ben Simpson officiating. Interment will follow graveside rites in the Union City Cemetery in Union, MS. The Boyd Family will receive guests for a time of visitation from 12:30 PM until 2:15 PM prior to funeral rites at the church. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Mr. Boyd, 76, of Collinsville, passed away, Friday, July 24, 2026.

Bill worked for over 39 years, beginning with the telephone company and retired with AT&T, as a digital technician. He was a faithful member of Collinsville First Baptist Church where he served in all areas of church life; he was a Deacon Emeritus and served on various committees. Bill loved fireworks and putting on a show for any and everyone. He especially enjoyed his firework displays bringing joy to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader, always on a quest for a good story. He loved antiques and junking, finding joy in old clocks and trains, and sharing his passion for them with his family. He was a jokester and enjoyed making others laugh and finding the joy in life’s little things. Bill could often be found working on different projects, great or small, all while wearing his beloved Liberty overalls. He also enjoyed his yardwork and gardening.

Bill is survived by his wife, Paula Boyd; children, Jenna Carpenter (Nick) and David Boyd (Laura); grandchildren, Brooks Carpenter, Hayes Carpenter, James Boyd, Owen Boyd, Whitten Boyd, and Caroline Boyd; his beloved four-legged companion, Coco; as well as a host of friends and church family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mayfield and Sarah Boyd; his father and mother-in-law, Luther and Beatrice Smith; and his sister-in-law, Bonnie Boswell.

The Boyd Family suggests memorials be made as donations to Collinsville First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
