Funeral services celebrating the life of Mr. William Palmer Cook, Jr. “Danny” will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Bro. Keith Lovett and Bro. Caleb Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive guests for visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home and from 9:00 until 9:45 on Saturday prior to the service at Fellowship Baptist Church. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Cook, 68, of Meridian passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Danny was born on December 17, 1957 in Meridian, MS to the late William and Sarah Cook. Danny lived his life in service to Christ Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Treasurer, deacon, disaster relief volunteer, and most importantly a brother in Christ to his beloved church family and friends. After Danny’s primary dedication to spread the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, he took his role as the spiritual leader of his family as his life’s mission.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Donna Cook; children, Lea Cook, Daniel Cook (Katie), and Lydia Strunk (Justin); grandchildren, Lawson Strunk and William Clyde Cook; sisters, Sheila Neal (Todd) and Nicole Herrington (Adam); and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Palmer and Sarah Lou Wright Cook and his granddaughter, Grace Gabriella Cook.
Pallbearers will be Jake Neal, Dylan Neal, Jordan Herrington, Peyton Herrington, Kevin Lee Henson, Josh Sullivan, and Joseph Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lawson Strunk and Clyde Cook, his Sunday School class, and the West Lauderdale class of 1975.
