William H. "Billy" McElroy Funeral services for William H. "Billy" McElroy will be held Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Brother Nolan Butler officiating. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery. He was a retired educator from Northeast High School for 35 years. After that, he had a second career at McElroy Auto Center. Billy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a strong Christian man. Mr. McElroy, age 83, of Meridian, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Rush Foundation Hospital. Survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years, JoAnn McElroy; daughter, Vicki Shanaghan (Kerry); son, Todd McElroy (Susan); son, Jeff McElroy (Becky); eight grandchildren, Brandon McElroy (Stacy), Ryan Shanaghan, Phillip Shanaghan, Alex McElroy, Kylee Shanaghan, Madison McElroy, Will McElroy, and Jake McElroy; two sisters, Nell Sollie and Frances Broadhead (Dempsey); brother, Buddy McElroy (Carol); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ethel McElroy. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook at robertbarhamffh.com.
