William Jackson (Jack) Chance
William Jackson (Jack) Chance, died on March 30, 2016, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 3:00pm at Bailey Presbyterian Church in Bailey, MS, with the Rev. Eric Mabbott and Bro. Jamey Germany officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the church at 2:00 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Chance was born October 28, 1933, in Covington County, MS. He lived most of his life in Jackson, MS, before moving to Lauderdale County in 2004. Mr. Chance was an active member of Bailey Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon before obtaining the status of Deacon Emeritus.
Mr. Chance attended Mississippi State University, where he played in the Famous Maroon Band, and then attended Millsaps College. He served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman for four years, during which time he met his wife, Diane Welling Chance. After serving in the Navy, he worked in Jackson as a cost accountant for various businesses before retiring from MobileComm.
Mr. Chance is survived by two daughters, Tammy Eason (Wayne) of Collinsville, MS, and Faith Maxwell (William) of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Amanda Eason Young, Dee Eason, Rob Eason (Casey), Taylor Maxwell, Will Maxwell, and Amelia Maxwell; three great grandchildren, Sawyer Young, Charlie Young, and Wesley Eason; Sister-in-Law, Faith Killius (Richard) of McCormick, SC.; along with aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Curtis Chance, and his wife of 45 years, Diane Welling Chance.
