William H. "Buddy" Jay Graveside services for William H. "Buddy" Jay will be held Saturday, at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Jimmy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Jay, 83, of Meridian died August 25, 2011, at Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was retired from the Meridian Police Department after twenty years of service. Mr. Jay drove for Cimarron Coaches transporting railroad workers to various cities and was the owner of Jays Used Cars in his early years. He also served in the United States Army. Survivors include his wife Virginia Jay of Meridian; two daughters Janice Barousse of Collinsville, Judy Jay Deweese of Meridian; a son Bill Jay of McAllen, Texas; five grandchildren Chandra Sheppard, Davie Pigford, Timmy Pigford, Matthew Tucker and Daniel Tucker; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Jay and four brothers. The family requests memorials be made to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
