William A. "Bill" Rouse, Sr. Funeral service for Bill Rouse will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Reverend Roy Dabbs and Dr. Hack McMullen officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Rouse, 83, of Meridian passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his residence. He retired after twenty-five years as a Lt. Commander from the United States Navy. Mr. Rouse was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He also enjoyed playing golf. Survivors include his wife, Edna Loving Rouse; daughters, Nell (Billy Ray) Mathis and Melissa (John "Doc") O'Flinn; son, Bill Rouse, Jr. (Nancy); daughter-in-law, Donna Rouse; son-in-law, Mark Goffrier; step-sons, Bill Moffett and Michael Moffett and nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Harriet; daughter, Linda Goffrier and sons, Phillip Rouse and Martin Rouse. The family requests memorials be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Jeff Tate, Danny Davis, Jason Carr, Allen Carr, Mark Cantey and Russell Carr. Honorary pallbearers will be his Sunday school class, where he taught for several years.
