Graveside services for Mr. William Dale "Dal" Tuggle will begin at 2:00 on Friday, May 22, 2026 at Old Marion Cemetery, with Dr. Scott Crenshaw officiating. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
William Dale "Dal" Tuggle, 92, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026. Born on October 6, 1933, Dal lived a long and full life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and the simple things he loved most.
Dal proudly served his country in the United States Army before beginning a long and respected career as a truck driver for Roadway Express, where he worked faithfully for nearly 30 years. He was an example to other drivers throughout his career and was recognized many times for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety, receiving numerous safety awards over the years. Dal was a man who believed in hard work, loyalty, and providing for his family.
He shared nearly 72 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Peggy Tuggle - a remarkable testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and companionship.
Dal was preceded in death by his sons, Gary Tuggle, David Tuggle, and Randy Tuggle; and by his granddaughters, Connie Marie Tuggle and Candace Tuggle.
He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 72 years, Peggy Tuggle; his daughters, Andrea Bateman (Harold) and Jennifer Odom (John); his son, Alan Tuggle; his grandchildren, Shane Briggs (Amber), D.J. Bateman (Madelyn), Sandy Chandler (Adam), Courtney Lenoir (Den), Austin Chandler (Casandra), Madison Fuller, Hayden Odom, Melissa Tuggle, and Jessica Tuggle; as well as an abundance of great-grandchildren who brought him much joy throughout his life.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bracken, Den Lenoir, Austin Chandler, Harold Bateman, and John Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be D.J. Bateman and Shane Briggs.
Dal enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved Alabama football, and found comfort and happiness in bluegrass and Southern gospel music.
He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the many memories shared with all who knew and loved him.
