Willie Mae Hodges was born on August 26, 1927. After 90 full years, she passed away June 28, 2018 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson.

Born to Obbie and Lorene Culpepper , Willie Mae became a part of the Hodges family when she married Cove Jr. They were married for 59 wonderful years before he passed in 2002. She was a long time resident of the Martin community and spent many years serving that community as a bus driver and cafeteria worker with the West Lauderdale School District.

An avid camper and deer hunter, she loved everything outdoors. She and her family enjoyed many summers out on the reservoir cooking fish and water skiing.

Willie Mae embraced everyone as family. She always had room at her table for anyone in need of a slice of her sweet potato pie and a cup of coffee. Being the only sister of five brothers strengthened Willie Mae and encouraged her amazing sense of humor. Her love was boundless!

Willie Mae is survived by two daughters, Rita Dollar Langston, (Parker); and Sheila Pinyan , (Thomas); her grandchildren, Jeff Dollar, (Sue Ellen); Kristy Dollar Bridgers,(David) ; Amanda Pinyan Olson, (Stephen); Kelly Pinyan Mejía,(Antonio); and Morgan Dollar; 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Raymond, Arnold, and Mike Culpepper . She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two of her brothers, Landis and Rusty Culpepper , and son-in-law, Stanley Dollar.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in Mrs. Willie Mae's memory to be made to Alzheimer's Mississippi, Inc., 855 S Pear Orchard Rd., Suite 501, Ridgeland, MS 39157, or donate online at alzms.org.
