Funeral services for Willie “Ray” Odom will be held Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home with Reverend Wade Ricks and Dr. David Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church of Collinsville Cemetery.

Mr. Odom, age 74, of Meridian peacefully passed away on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Regency Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Ray was born on February 8, 1942 in Canton, Mississippi to Willie T. and Odis Odom.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His passion was fishing and hunting, but he was renowned for catching and frying catfish and mentored many an aspiring fisherman and cook.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cathy Odom; children, Bobby Odom (Cynthia), Sean Odom (Sondra), Ray Odom (Deanna); grandchildren, Taylor Odom, Celeste Miles, Katie Odom, Abbie Odom, Maddie Odom, Anna-Beth Loper, Sadie Odom, Sean Paul Odom, Laney Odom, Charles Odom, and Walker Ray Odom; brothers, Jimmy Odom (Geneva) and Jerry Odom (Sue); sister, Joyce Thiebolt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Hubert Ray Odom, Talmadge Odom, and Thomas Odom.

Pallbearers will be Herman Ivy, Robbie Nash, Jeff Odom, Taylor Odom, Danny Ross, and Michael Shelby. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Jenkins and Buddy Odom.
