Wilton R. Lowery

Funeral services for Mr. Lowery will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home, with Rod Lowery officiating.  Burial will follow at Meridian Memorial Park.

Mr. Lowery, 85, of Meridian, passed away July 9, 2016 at home.

Wilton and his wife worked together in food service at East Mississippi State Hospital for thirty-five years, where he was the director. His greatest joy was serving his God, Jehovah, with his family for over seventy-two years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a generous and hospitable man who seized every opportunity to take care of others, whether it was cooking a meal, chauffeuring the elderly, or ministering to others spiritually. He loved traveling with friends on group trips to New York.

He is survived by his children, Sheri Paul and her husband, Richard, of Meridian, and Jason Lowery and his wife, Angela, of Hernando, Mississippi; four grandchildren, Chris Paul and Emily Paul of Meridian, and Amelia Lowery and Olivia Lowery of Hernando; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-eight years, Opal Lowery.
