Memorial services for Mr. Winford "Wimp" Gillespie will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the funeral home prior to services.

Winford "Wimp" R. Gillispie, age 75, of Dekalb, MS transitioned peacefully on December 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 30, 1950, at Madigan General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington. He was the beloved father of David, Marcia, Melissa, Kiara, and a cherished presence in the lives of all who knew him.

Wimp was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and no-nonsense personality. He touched countless lives with his quiet strength, his wisdom, and the love he gave so freely. He was a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin and friend. He touched everyone with his steady presence and unconditional kindness.

He had a passion for cars, a love for nourishing his garden with the same gentle care that he showed others he loved. He will be remembered for telling it like it was, for his sense of humor, sharp wit and dislike for big crowds.

He is preceded in death by Father, Champ "Gully" Gillespie, Mother, Virdie Bell Gillespie and Son, David Rush. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia Russell (Craig), Melissa Arriagada (Anthony), Kiara Rush, his five grandsons, three granddaughters, three great-granddaughters, one sister Tommie Wyatt, Joyce Steele (special friend), countless family members and friends.

As we honor his life today, we also wish to share that a spring celebration will be held as we break ground on a memorial garden. At that time, we will sprinkle his ashes and carry forth his legacy through growth and harvest. Family and friends are invited to come honor his memory and share in the love he left behind.

Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted knowing that he is at peace. His light will continue to shine through the lives he touched.
